Carnival goers were not deterred by the constant rain and the events began this afternoon with the presentation of the Carnival banner to Patreon Mayor Kostas Pelletidis.
Patras enters the rhythms of the carnival from today with the opening ceremony of the great cultural festival of the city, simultaneously sending messages of optimism, vitality and joy.
“Hidden Treasure”
The great protagonists are once again this year the thousands of young people from Patras, members of the “Hidden Treasure” crews, who achieve every year with their imagination, creativity and artistic temperament the projection of the main cultural institution of the city.
The continuous rain did not deter the carnival fans, and the events began this afternoon with the delivery of the carnival banner to the mayor of Patreon Costas Pelletidis by the carnival fans, the president and members of the board of directors of the “Carnaval de Patras” municipality, and the advisory committee and auction of the Carnaval de Patrinos.
Rain Carnival

The banner of the Patrinos Carnival 2023 will remain in the town hall until the end of the events on February 26, on the occasion of the great celebration of the carnival capital.

Main Job
The first part and the main event of the opening ceremony is the idea and execution of the world famous choreographer Spyros Kouvaras, founder of the Greek-French contemporary dance group, Synthesis 748 Dance Co.
The Opening Ceremony will be hosted by Marios Zafiropoulos and Patrinos Carnival 2023 Auctioneer Maria Agourides.
